Why Clive? Canon Ambassador, Clive Booth began his career as a graphic designer before being invited by legendary British fashion photographer Nick Knight to shoot backstage at London Fashion Week. There, he developed his distinctive style of selective focus using only Canon prime lenses shooting in natural, available light, giving his work an atmospheric, ethereal quality. Working across stills, moving image, VR and fine art archival print, his experimental approach and use of new technologies have given him many Canon firsts and attracted international clients including MAC Cosmetics, L’Oréal, Intel, Aston Martin and LVMH. Wanting to make a difference through authentic and meaningful storytelling, Clive carefully selects work with strong social value. This ethos began with a long-term project on the Scottish island of Islay with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. His portraits of lifeboat crews—at home, at sea —capturing the bravery and selflessness of volunteers. Passionate about arts education, Clive teaches locally and works with charities and the Canon Young People Programme. In 2022 he led Ideas Foundation workshops celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with work displayed on digital billboards nationwide. He returned in 2023 for the “Coronation Generation” marking King Charles III’s Coronation. Recent work includes directing a narrative VR film for Birmingham Royal Ballet for neurodiverse young people who can’t ordinarily attend live theatre, and a powerful photographic portrait project highlighting world first research into the mental and physical wellbeing of elite dancers. This work was exhibited as part of Health and Wellbeing Week at World Expo, Osaka, Japan 2025.
